WTF are you smoking? Your response had absolutely nothing to do with lease provisions requiring certain utilities. I never said anything about medication in my post, but you somehow felt the need to comment on it? Are you taking medication that makes you batshit crazy? I think you need a break from the internet.

Quoting blurp:

I see it as a total misuse of power, for electricity to dictate anything is unsubstantiated.   It has nothing to do with threads or personal opinions of others, it's just an insight.   And medication... hmm why didn't I think of that. you know you can dish out things to those you wish, but have no form of distinction in how to handle it.  I'm not here for counseling, but it's clear that some people can't use their other side of the brain.

So back to having people that don't know how to shut off their own CHOICE of utility.  Nobody can dictate to you what utility you use.  Or give the phrase. ..''needed'', or ''basic'',  it's a manipulation of power.  Everyone knows that if you were to take a stand against the state and see them cringe that it's putting families into jeapardy to need an expensive power source, and elec. is very costly.

Most people that use it if it's poor or whatever you want to label people now... has nothing to do with a run power supply .  POORNESS is a choice to make.  You cannot have your family put into a mold that is dictated by some over processed and outdated utility entity.  solar isn't new.  neither is anything else within keeping rooms warmed by something called a newer apt.   They are out there.   Being poor, ( and here's my point) isn't a state run dictate, it's a choice.   But to take children based on someone else's criteria of a lame utility that want to ''rule'' a state and take their children by poor wording to expound an already haggard argue based (instead of getting our heads out of the sand) and seeing the whole picture.

Sorry it's long but some people don't want to see.         It will get worse if you only look at what is blinding our ..............''needs-'' according to state run agendas, and worn old court agendas.  By the way this thread is super old.

Quoting jadedcynic:

Most apartments have provisions requiring that you have utilities on and in your name. If I were to preemptively shut off my electricity, my landlord would get a notice from the utility company and I could be evicted. So, that isn't a good solution.

Quoting blurp:

and what is it for to have a late payment if you don't pay for the heat, water, etc, it can also and does get shut off.   It's not a bank account, it's a utility.   I'd sacrifice paying on the bill at all, and get it shut off ..  just shut it off prior to having it become late in the first place.

Preventative thinking and planning.

I'd shut off all my utilities if I couldn't pay them.  It's not like you cannot have them shut off.  YOU are the payor, not the landlord.  As long as your rent and that's BASE RENT< nothing included is paid, there is no reason to have utilities that cannot get paid.

There's always sandwiches, spam, PBJ's,  Fast food, convenience market foods, and dried foods for that matter.   If I were to get any apt. I would surely not have any utilities unless I knew my rent got paid .

Once a heating bill was billed and the heat stayed on permanently even in summer, because it was turned ON.  so it STAYED ON

Quoting Anonymous:

It can be. Poor people usually have less than stellar credit, thus they end up paying more in interest on things they buy. If you pay a bill late, you get a late fee. They also tend to be the ones suckered into payday loans and rent to own furniture type things, where they way over pay for things.

Don't forget unabsolved medical bills from the poor diets and medical care that is not sought until way too late.  We began our married life very poor, and we've worked our way up over the 4 years married to NOT being that way anymore.  But now, we still owe medical bills for DH's back when his disc burst, bills that we couldn't pay then that went onto the credit cards, and are paying with our bodies for the poor quality foods we had to eat as well as all the student loans I had to take out to finish college and support the family with.  Yeah, it is expensive to be poor, even if it's later on when you're not so poor anymore!

Can you summarize your main points with bullet points?   I can't figure out what you're trying to communicate in the post below.

I have never seen her post before so I honestly dont know if she is usually like this, or if she just had a stroke or something. It seriously worries me that there are children in her house though...

Quoting cinnamonkiti:

One of the main bus lines here goes right past the state hospital...When they get out, they hop the bus, so it's a combination of both.lol.

Quoting Anonymous:

Lmao. I was thinking psych ward, but city bus works too. I seriously tried to make sense of her first 2 or 3 responses, but have given up. None of it is coherent.

Quoting Anonymous:

Um, yeah...

This is eerily similar to late night ramblings I've heard on the city bus..

This is Cinnamonkiti..I accidentally hit anon on my mobile...

Quoting Anonymous:Blurp has been drinking or is having a bad reaction to her medication. She is just rambling about non sense lol. I dont even feel like most of it is a complete thought, just one random phrase after another lol

Quoting cinnamonkiti:This thread is about the poor...Didn't you notice that in your rantings about Easter?

Quoting blurp: poor isn't a blanket reality nor is it probable cause for neglect of children.   Being without electric doesn't dictate that you can't take care of a new application in running some other type of heat, or purchasing power is lowered .   This is ludicrous and it's not true.   It's 100% lie.

A good way to get someone in a totally electric apt. is to be saying the utilities in that area like you're saying an underdeveloped place, without stores, or walmarts, or anything available for miles, is that what you mean?>     And what can be done to / for these areas with no such choices of power source options, or stores, or anything that even may exist within the U.S. ???

If that is true, and if there is more going on here -- say it.   It's not blanket.  But I see a trending focus on some possible apts, that are run by the utilities for competition if that is the case.  and that is wrong for utilities to raise havoc on a families child, what did that child ever do to them. ?>?   THink about what is  really  going on .

Quoting Anonymous:People who have to have their electric shut off because they can't afford to pay it are not likely to have the funds to switch to propane, gas, or solar power, especially if they are living in an apartment and don't have the authority to make those changes. CPS considers lack of basic needs being met to be neglect, so yes they can take your children for that.

Quoting blurp:

to the CPS  stuff on this thread

that is false totally false,  There isn't 1 reason to not have your children for 1 month to catch up and have 1 utility like propane to keep it for hot water, and gas stove.  Electricity isn't necessary for children.  Milk can be bought in cans and dried forms.

Food can be cooked in a propane baking oven, or on top with gas.

All in all, that's a lie.   Propane can heat hot water in a hot water tank.   It's not new age.

Also electric is a choice not a demand.  THIS isn't a forced utility.  Elec.  is  a choice.

Nobody NEEDS microwaves, and lights can be battery operated.  at night.  I don't want to hear anymore .

Gas runs dryers also.

Sorry but this info is false.  Just someone in a position of power flaunting some colors.

Solar power is available for lights too.   It's everyplace , in every store, available everywhere, it's just a scam that utilities use to keep their  power on.

Quoting Anonymous:CPS can take your kids if you don't have electricity.

Quoting blurp:

Once a heating bill was billed and the heat stayed on permanently even in summer, because it was turned ON.  so it STAYED ON>

Quoting Anonymous:Exactly. And for someone who couldnt pay the bill in the first place, that couple hundred dollars is undoable for them, so they go take out a pay day loan, to get their electric back on, and they end up paying 200% interest on that loan. A huge portion of each paycheck is then taken each week to pay back that loan, which takes away money they already didnt have, so they get further behind on other bills, and it is a continous cycle of fees, that the average person doesnt incur. It is certainly expensive to get ahead or even just caught up once you are behind.

Quoting Anonymous:

This is just what I was going to say. We recieved a shut off notice for our gas a few weeks ago (computer error- the bill was actually paid), and I couldn't believe all of the fees and stuff that come with that. They charge a $100 reconnect fee plus a $200 deposit on top of whatever you owe, that's gotta be rough for people who get caught in that situation.

Quoting Anonymous:It can be. Poor people usually have less than stellar credit, thus they end up paying more in interest on things they buy. If you pay a bill late, you get a late fee. It can be, yes. It's all about the decisions you make. Some situations cannot be helped, but most can.

It's expensive in the sense of not getting routine care medically and routine maintanance around your home.

I don't think blurp is lucid enough for that right now.

Lady, call your doctor. This isn't a "bash". You are seriously disjointed in your thinking, and need to get help.
What this seems to be signaling is an approaching mental breakdown. I don't doubt your intelligence, or your passion for the subject, but I am sensing serious danger here.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR!

This plus they can't normally take advantage of buying in bulk, ect they c am only afford to buy what they need that moment, or they buy the cheaper products that don't last as long and have to be replaced more often
