WIC- do they think I'm feeding a baby COW?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I just used my WIC checks for the month and noticed they gave me six gallons of milk...why? Yes, I'm nursing but do they think I'm nursing a baby cow? Why so much milk but only one small block of cheese and one tiny loaf of bread? Weird!

It's supposed to help, not be enough for you to live off of. Be freaking grateful.

Also I can't live off of one bag of beans and 5 cans of tuna....lol.

We go through almost a gallon a day. I'm jealous. Milk gets costly!

what a waste of tax payer money.  I thought this program was going to be cut some?  Why are they giving out so much free milk?

I think it's just to make sure you drink enough milk to replenish your calcium levels, especially if you're breastfeeding.

Really???

If you have time you can make mozerella with a gallon of whole milk. It's not too hard!

We easily go through 6 gallons a month, but we're a family of 4.  Really, we probably go through about 8.  A gallon of whole milk for my boys and a gallon of skim for my husband and I a week.
