5. you have a REALLY messy or even slightly dirty home

6. you drink way too much

7. you do anything sexual in front of/to/ around your child

If I thought they would have it any better in foster care which imo things would have to be pretty crazy at home.

1.If you beat the hell out of your kid. Spanking for a reason doesn't count imo. Ohio child abuse laws are pretty lenient so I doubt it would be enforced if it wasn't life threatening.

They also have lax laws about what age you can leave a kid home alone.

2.Hardcore drugs/alcoholisim that is impacting them.

3. Molestation

4. Hoarders level on a dirty house. Not cluttered or messy.

5. Not providing, food, clothes, shelter for your kids.

I honestly think that you should have verything c;lean and all things organized.....we move every 2-4 yearsand in 48 hours my home is unpacked and clean and beautifu;l

Quoting Anonymous:

What do you consider slightly dirty? I keep mine clean(dishes caught up, bathroom clean, floors swept, etc). We just moved so it's cluttered and we are working on it. It is livable though.

Well goody for you.

There's a difference between drinking responsibly and being a lush in front of the kids. A beer or two isn't horrible but I know parents who have wild parties and get trashed, as well as have other people over who are trashed, in front of their kids and I think it's wrong. My daughters aren't allowed to go to certain people's houses anymore because of this.

Quoting Anonymous:

LOL honey, you can call and WASTE government money and time all you want, but drinking IN FRONT of your kids is not illegal, immoral or wrong....LMAO I drink in fron of mine and they will learn how to enjoy alcohol RESPONSIBLY... let me guess, you are Mormon ad they annot have coffee or tea either :/ LOL get over you

Quoting Anonymous:

1. doing drugs weed counts/selling counts/ in front of the children/ in the house/ etc

2. drinking alcohol in front of the children/ drunk around the children

3.  Abusing the kids (beating them for no reason all the time/ occasionally/ etc)

4. Sexually abusing the kids

5. Starving the kids.

You described someone I know and was reported but some how has not had her kids taken from her. I wish I could adopt the poor babies

House is nasty, kids don't look like they've had a shower or bath in days, selling drugs or doing them around children, sexual or physical abuse, small children left in a car by themselves.

Don't come to my house, because I do drink around my children. I don't do it if I'm the only parent home. Weed doesn't happen when my kids are awake, and again if I'm the only parent home. Haven't done that in a while. My house isn't spotless, we have between 4 and 8 kids running in and out constantly. It isn't disgusting though. We've moved multiple times and I'm sorry but I can't get everything organized in 48 hrs.

Question about number 2. So because my mom drinks infront of my son you will call CPS? Or the fact that I have had a drink or two infront of him? You are goin to call? I don't get drunk, I just have a drink maybe 2. I wait till he is in bed if I want to get a real buzz going and someone has to be here.

Where I live its up to te parents discression on what age they want to leave their kids home alone. I'm sure under 5 is considered neglect. but there is no actual law.

Quoting mattiehatter:

For almost all of the above in your OP. I wouldn't report for a slightly dirty home or the kids being left alone if there is someone 13+ present for a short time.

Slightly dirty? Don't waste CPS's time over that one. Many parents work. Slightly dirty maybe the best they can manage. Depends on what slightly dirty means to you.

I've reported my upstairs neighbors because I heard the mother screaming at her daughter, who was screaming bloody murder, and all the while I heard banging and glass breaking.
