Double Standard?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

My friend has a set of twins. One boy and one girl. They are 4 and have both been diagnosed with different degrees of mental retardation, thus they aren't potty trained yet.

Both sides of the family freak out if my friend's dh changes his daughter's diaper because she's 4, but no one cares if my friend changes her son's diaper and expects her to do all the work with both of them?

Does that make any sense to you?

No, it doesn't make sense. Tell her to ignore them and keep doing what they are doing:) She has to have help. Twins with mental handicaps must be so hard for the whole family!

Uh, no. That is ridiculous. Not every guy out there is going to molest his children.

That is ridiculous!
There are plenty of male nurses that change female diapers at the nursing homes and homes for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities.

They sound like a bunch of idiots.

Makes absolutely no sense.  Both parents should help out, especially with special needs kids who need more attention and care.

Seems nobody trusts men these days. It's sad.

No that's weird. It's his child I don't see why he can't change her also.

If my family insinuated that my husband would be inappropriate with our daughter, I would be livid.  So would he.  Same goes for his family.
