I was molested — Ask me anything

From the ages of 8-15 by my father. My mother never knew, because I protected her, knowing it would crush her that she'd gone so far to protect me and something like that happened.

Ask me anything. And I do mean anything. I'm not shy about it.

How did she "go so far" to protect you?

She divorced him before I'd turned 5 because he was getting abusive to her, and she didn't want me to grow up with it.

She didn't trust him, and tried her best to get supervised visitation (which wasn't granted).

She gave up most of her life to sty at home with me while she worked.

Why did it stop?

After a while, was it "consensual"? Well how do I ask this, ughh the words escape me. I know some people grow fond to the molestation just as a coping mechanism. Obviously even if you did consent" that's obviously not.

How did he manage to get around your mother? Did she work a lot or something.

Has he ever asked for forgiveness or apologized to you, do you ever feel like being molested has ruined your xhildhood, or even adulthood?

It stopped (FINALLY) when my step mother discovered what was going on, and told my guidance counsellor the whole thing. We were in a shelter 2 hours away within 8 hours.

Second question is tough... But I'm gonna say no because the times I let him do it (because I was a daddy's girl and didn't want him to hate me) I wasn't old enough to 'consent'.

My parents divorced when I was 4. I knew how mug it would hurt her, so I kept my trap shut until she died when I was 14.

Why were you protecting her when she should have been protecting you? Was it a friend of the family or a family member?

I say molested because there was never any intercourse, so I was never actually raped. He just touched me with his hands.

It was my father, and my parents had been divorced for years.

I was sensitive to my mom's emotions. I knew how badly it would hurt her if she knew, and I didn't want to hurt her. So I never told her.
