Any suggestions for a 15 month old that HITS?

I have 5 kids and my youngest is 15 months old. When someone asks her for a kiss, she smacks them. When someone offers her a toy, sippy cup, food, etc that she doesn't want, she smacks it away! It is embarrasing! None of my other kids were like this. Right now I just sternly hold her hand and say, "NO". I wont hit her back. Any suggestions? I'm hoping she outgrows it fast!

I'd smack her hand. Not enough to hurt obviously, just enough to make her realize she doesn't like it.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. just a casual "we don't hit" or "if you don't want it just say no" as you either catch her hand or prevent her from hitting. saying no in a loud disciplinary voice is giving her a reaction and no reaction would probably work better :)

Hopefully it's just a phase, but you might try holding her hands down and telling her do not hit.

I put my son's hands in timeout when he was around that age.

Thank you! My older 4 laughed the first few times she did it which is why, I think, she still does it. They don't laugh anymore, though!
