Growing up I was taught to address my parents close friends by aunt or uncle so and so and I would call my friends parents so and so's mom or dad. Ds is talking a lot more now and I not sure how he should address adults. DH thinks it's fine to call them by their first name, me not so much.

What do your kids call adults?

It depends on who it is. Usually no, it's mr or mrs last name. If they are good friends of ours they do call them by their first name.

It depends on what the adult prefers.  I always start them out calling an adult Mr or Miss or Mrs and then if the adult corrects that is fine with me.

Mr ____ or Ms ______, unless they are close family.  Even then anyone older than forty tends to end up Aunt ____ or Uncle ________.

Unless they introduce themselves with a title, yes I have my children call them by their first names. Personally, I hate titles. I believe in respect across the board, regardless of age. And calling someone a silly name doesn't really mean anything. It's just a show. True respect goes much deeper than a title. And yes, I'm well aware my opinion is not a popular one on here.

It depends on how close we are to them. Sometimes it is aunt/uncle or Ms. Mr. Just depends.
