This is not a brag or attention post. I'm simply posting this in the event that someone is interested in an au pair. We don't know ANYONE who has used one so we went in blind. Hopefully I can help some moms out.

You can ask personal questions too. I'll answer them but I hope to just inform others.

I'd like a mommy helper.. someone to come in like 8-10 hours a week and let me go to the grocery store alone or get my hair done once in a while. Especially since my husband will be deploying soon. I'll be with my kids 24/7! Lucky.

300 a week for 2 kids.

A nanny- live out(mostly), cost more, less risky IMO

Do you need to have an area just for her (ie. bedroom and bathroom)?  How many hours a week does she work?  Does she do light housekeeping too?  Do you allow her to drive your kids around?  Where is she from?
