How do I explain this to DH?

I'm 39 weeks today with our first child. DH and I are part of a non profit organization that's just getting off the ground. One of the members called DH today and told him that there's going to be a meeting four days after my due date. DH told him that we would cook and bring dinner for everyone! 8-10 people.

I told him that unless I'm still pregnant I won't even be able to attend the meeting but that I think he should call back and tell him that we won't be able to provide an entire dinner for 10 people. DH doesn't see what the big deal is. He said, "It's not that hard to cook dinner" and "You can just wear the baby in your Moby wrap..that's what it's for."

I'm just mostly freaked out that he apparently has no idea that having a days old baby is going to be really stressful. What can I say to him?

Nothing. You can't reason with stupid. Just tell him the dinner is off and he needs to convey that message.

No, no,no. You should not be obligated to cook that big of a meal whether you are still pregnant or not. Either way you are going to be exhausted!

Let him do the cooking and clean up since it was his idea.
