He CAN walk, He just DOESN'T want to

Ds 14 months has walked our entire living room several times in the last two months. He knows how. He just chooses not to. Unless he is playing with someone and it is easiest just to walk, he refuses to.
He refuses to stand half the time even though he is really good at it.
Is this normal?

It's normal. Just because you know how to do something doesn't mean you HAVE to. Ya know? For him, he's crawled and rolled to get places all this time and has gotten good at it so why not do it when he knows it's quicker.

Yes it's normal. Some babies would rather crawl because it gets them there faster than walking.

It's normal. He's still unsure about walking, so he sticks with what he's familiar with.

Just hold his hand and encourage him to walk with you. Eventually he will figure out that walking is better.

Normal. He'll figure out that it is faster to walk around rather than crawl.

My oldest was running around before she was 11mo old. My youngest is lazy and acting more like yours. Pretty sure it's normal. :)

Oh yeah. My dd didn't walk until she was good and ready (16 months). The next day she was running around the house. Some kids just don't want to do something until they are comfortable with it.
