To the anonomous and the four year old in the park.
I am 74 going through the last years of a wonderfull life.
Being a great grand mother listening to some of women anxieties about growing up and independence.
It was in the middle of WW2 that I walked about three miles each day to Kinder by my self. Only when the likely hood of bombs coming down was kept at home or in Kinder to be collected.
So when I read that a child of 4 can't be their without his mother close enough to see him I feel sorry for your children. When do they learn that when there is enough people around and the child has a mouth to call for help it is OK. to be by themselves and begin the exploration of life. Give your children the chance to get the bumps and bruises their elders got while growing up.
