High Functioning Alcoholic

I drink too much.  I have for 2 years.  I didn't handle a trauma well, and started drinking to numb myself and shut my mind off.  Went through emotional hell in therapy and got out all secrets that were making me sick.

Now, I'm stuck with this drinking habit until I start outpatient therapy Monday.  I finally got the balls to call.  I'm ready to be healthy and happy again...to be social and fun again...hangover free again...to feel again.  I'm ready to break out of my cocoon of self medicating and isolating and bloom into a new, stronger creature.

Goodbye depression, goodbye guilt, hello joy and hello peace.

Have you ever dealt with addiction?

GL.

Just know, once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. It will always be a struggle, and a part of you. Keep strong through it!
