did your dh finally grow up and start acting like a responsible loving husband and father?? What happened to get him to change?

He was a grown up when I married him. He was responsible and loving to begin with, which is why I married him. He was a great father from day 1. 

Edit. I guess all of that should not be past tense, because he still is responsible, loving and a great father.

He has always been responsible and loving. I couldn't marry someone who wasn't.

Ummm he was pretty grown up and responsible whenI nmarried him but when we were married four years and dd was born he finally quit drinking for good. Before he could never make it past the one year mark. We will be married ten years in August.

From day one. He's 14 years older than me and was traveling and living on his own for 10 years before we met. He has time to grow up.

About 6 or 7...we married young (18), I threatened divorce, and it worked. He quit drinking and staying out late. We have been married for almost 16 years now. Very happily :)

He got better after he quit drinking, but he was always pretty responsible
