For those of you who remember, a while ago, my uncle was convicted of a fatal drunk driving accident.
He sat in jail from December 21st, until yesterday, not knowing his sentence.
He was sentenced yesterday with 3 years in prison, with 7 years of extended supervision.
The judge said he also has to talk to high school kids about drinking & driving when he's done with his sentence, and he has to visit the victim's grave every year on the victim's birthday.

A link to the story & video of his sentencing:

How will the judge (or anyone for that matter) know if he visits the victims grave on their birthday?

I actually agree with you.
It seems everyone in this county gets off easy when it comes to something like that.
For example, this year, 3 drunk teenagers got into a car together. The one that was driving crashed the car and he was the only one who lived. He got 2 years in prison with 1 year of probation.
Then, a few years back, a woman was driving drunk and drove into a yard where three children were playing. She killed all of them and only got 6 years in prison.
It seems that we need some new judges and district attorneys.

My aunt said that they're assigning him a parole officer to go with him every year.

Wow, if he killed another person because he was driving drunk then he deserves life in prison. Smh
