I can't believe the amount some of you pay for your health insurance...

I was reading the other post and those monthly amounts are outrageous! AND on top of that you have like a $6,000 deductible every year?? That's crazy. I am absolutely thankful that my dh is in the military and we pay $0 for insurance and prescriptions.

Yes, military family's who are forever crying poor should factor in actual health costs to their husbands salary and BAH and BAS sums.

No, it does not. If you CHOOSE standard then you have copays, but there is not a cost each month to have tricare.

Makes me thankful too!

We paid nothing for a long time and recently they changed it so we pay $50 a month for a family of 5 and no deductibles that I know of. We only pay copays and prescriptions.

We probably have a deductible on a hospital stay.

Hence why I'd rather take my chances, pay the fine and go without.

I agree. And FTR I never cry poor, however my dh makes a lot more than the lower enlisted do, so I can see why they think that.

I pay nothing but I'm Canadian. I was astonished that having a baby costs do much in the hospital.

Huh? We have had nothing but positive experiences at the MTFs. Whether it be routine care, surgeries, me having babies etc..
