I am studying Algebra right now, because I have my GED test in one week. I am stuck on something Please help!
If 4x-2x=2x
And 3x-2x=x( because when the answer is 1, you just state the variable),
Then what is zero? For example,
3x-3x= 0(what? Is it 0x?)

Anything multiplied by 0 is equal to 0. Therefore, 3x-3x=0.

Take away the x and look at the problems.

4x-2x= 2x

4-2=2

3x-3x=0

3-3=0

X is a variable. You can change it to anything, but when you assign the value it is the value for all X's. Does this make sense?

Dh says x represents a number which if it is 3, it would be the same for both x's... It would be 3(3) which would be 9... And 9-9 is 0...

It is 0x, but because anything times 0 is 0, you just put 0.

Your question is a bit confusing. What is the EXACT question/wording because I think a lot of these answers are off a bit?
