Seriously the fact this is even and issue it so dumb but anyway here it is. I am a country girl. Born a bred. Love my country music. My kids are bi-racial. Since its what I listen too obviously they do too, my son, he is 5, loves his country. Can sing a lot of popular songs, and really doesn't want to listen to anything else.

Members of SO's family as well as friends of mine with bi-racial kids say I am making him "too white" by allowing him to listen too country and its a slap too his "black side".

I say Really? First of all he is 5. Second while yes he is half black he is also half white, half small town farmgirl actually lol, so why should I deny him MY side of his heritage?

People get worked up over the stupidest things! I HATE country music, but if you like it and he likes it who cares? They need to get over it.

Just go with the flow. He will figure out who he is as he ages. That's my opinion.

Just make sure you teach him both sides of who he is, and when he gets older, he'll figure out who HE is.
