I had ultrasound yesterday that showed the baby had an enlarged head. The Dr said they need more testing but that it looked consistant with Hydrocephalus ( water on the brain). Im an MA so I understand this from a medical POV however My question is from a parent POV..How do you handle the kind of care your baby needs? Is it much different than caring for a child without special needs? What did you do pre-baby & post-baby to cope with the worry & "what if"s that came along?
Im worried & overwhemled at the moment...stories and advise welcome

*Edit-I should add that abortion is Not an option here...my baby moves, kicks, has a heartbeat & is starting to hear outside the womb :-)

My friend's daughter has hydrocephalus. She had a shunt placed and is a very happy little baby and seemingly healthy

Do you have gestational diabetes? I did while I was pregnant and I was concerned about this. Horror stories I heard....everything turned out fine though. I hope the same is true for your baby. :(

I would do whatever I could to make sure my child could live as normal a life as possible. My first showed signs of hydrocephalus at the ultrasound and the next ultrasound had shown they were mistaken thankfully. But I believe they could place a shunt to drain thr water.
