what would you do?

Right now there is freezing rain outside my house. It also hailed yesterday and it is still all over the streets. I have to work at 9 but I am worried about the roads (I don't trust my car and it is extremely windy). 511 says caution... what do I do? I have to work an hour away this afternoon.

Would you risk it? This morning at least....

Depends on how long the freezing rain has been going on, and how long it is going to continue.  We are expecting freezing rain tomorrow and it fall from 9 am Thursday until 6am Friday.

I wouldn't go, if it is an option.

Unless you have a boss that says 'it's okay don't drive' I'd go.  Drive slowly and carefully and call your boss before you leave and tell them what's going on.

People go to work in horrible weather...it's not a hurricane or a typhoon.

I would go to work, just leave early and drive cautiously.... I would never not go to work unless it was a family emergency.

If it was all day I would call my work and tell them I am going to work from home.  But that is the big difference I am able to work from home with my job.  We are expecting this weather starting tomorrow and it is to run over night on Friday.  Our work has told us that we are free to take work home tonight and work from home Thursday and Friday if the weather turns nasty.

Honestly - I am the type of person however if I could not work from home that I would go in.  I would see how it played out.  Only reason I would not go in is a family emergency or if like two years ago they issued a travel ban on the roads - yank everything except emergency personal (bus, taxis, and cars were not allowed on the streets until further notice)
