Did your parents use food stamps???

I feel like PA was such a rare thing when we were children. My parents struggled when we were very little, but they were never on government assistance. I do, however, remember walking down to the church where they gave my mom some food once, things like cheese and peanut butter.

Once . . . My dad broke his hip in an accident and was unable to work for quite a while.

Yeah when they fell on hard times after my dad lost his job. We weren't on them for very long.

Nope, never. Both my parents worked to provide for us. My mom lost her job last year and hasn't been able to find another one. She doesn't even qualify for them because she makes to much on unemployment. It's sick that people that paid into the system for 30 plus years can't get it when they need it, but it's handed out to all these people that abuse the system.

Nope. But sometimes I wish they had. We went to bed hungry many times.
