How did you know...

what you wanted to do with your life?  Did you know at a very young age and you pursued that dream since day one?  Did what you do with your life now just fall into your lap and it turned out to be exacty what you wanted?  Or are you still searching for your calling in life?

I've spent the entirety of my adult life dedicating my life to my children/family and when I think about what I really want to do with my life it's not necessarily just this, I'd like more. I just can't figure out what it is exactly. I'm just trying to see how it worked out for everyone else I guess. Maybe trying to see if I just have delusional expectations of what that pivotal moment will be like.

Are you happy with where you are in life?  Is it where you imagined you'd be? I definitely am speaking more in terms of career, however, these same questions easily apply to life in general.

I want to be a nurse.. I have always wanted to be one. I want to help people. I took a break from school for a couple years to take care of my family but i've been back to school now for 2 years and will graduate May 2014 as long as I don't fail out. I also want to do photography or something for a hobby..

I knew when I was 10 that I wanted to be an opera singer. Sometimes I do wonder where I would be if I had put off marriage and babies. I have friends that sang all over the country and Europe before settling down, and I got married right out of college instead. But I get to be a mom and have my family and sing on the side, so I am happy with that.

I don't necessarily hate my life but I am not in love with it. I mean don't get me wrong, I love my husband and my children to death but it's the me I'm not the happiest with.

I have little to no friends and other than my daily errands, etc. I don't do much either.

I'm kind of envious of my best friend because they are CONSTANTLY doing something. Every single weekend is booked up with something to do. But then I hear her tell me all the time how envious she is of me because I don't have obligations every single weekend.

Just a matter of perspective I guess.

I didn't really know what I wanted to do until 2011. I just knew I didn't want to make the military a career. So after I got out and had searched for a job for about a year, I started taking care of disabled adults. I am now going to school for medical assisting because I found a nich for taking care of people. I eventually want to work with the disabled again. I really enjoyed it.

That is great that you know what you want to do and kudos to you for going back and continuing your education. Is it what you expected?  Easier/harder?  I've always been very interested in photography and I very much wanted to further it but I feel like photography has become this go to hobby kwim?  It seems like EVERYBODY and their mother/brother/sister does some kind of photography lol.

I didn't really know until I was in high school. I decided I wanted to be a teacher but wasn't 100 percent sure. My aunt was a first grade teacher so she let me come in her class when I got out of school in the afternoon and help out. I really like it so I went to college and got a teaching degree. When I was teaching and before I had kids I was asked to be on a committee to help rewrite the Language Arts curriculum for our school division. I loved writing curriculum and looked into jobs where I could spend more time doing this. I found out I needed a Masters Degree so I went back to school and got my Masters Degree. After teaching for while I had my kids and became a sahm for about ten years.  When I decided to go back to work I had to renew my certification so I took some more graduate classes and decided to then pursue a doctoral degree. I taught for a few years while finishing up this degree. A year after I finished this degree I was ready to do something different and became an instructional specialist. When I went to college to become a teacher, I had no idea that this job existed or all the different jobs in education outside the classroom. I love my job because I get to work with teachers, students and other administrators still. I do a lot of teacher training and I love doing that. My point in telling you my whole story is so you will understand that sometimes it is a journey to get to where you ultimately want to be. If there is something you are interested in, jump in and just start somewhere. I loved being a sahm but now that my kids are older, I love my job.

Do you ever feel envious of what they were able to experience?

All I REALLY want is happiness and stability. I married a good man, have two wonderful little boys, and I stay at home. I can't complain. I enjoy science/anatomy & physiology type education so I'm getting my Nuclear Medicine degree. I may or may not use it... we'll see. It just makes me feel good to further my education.

I didn't always want to be a Nuclear Medicine technition... it's just right up my alley and it won't take long to obtain that goal.

i have been with dh for almost 5 yrs. in those 5 yrs we have not had ONE date night. our one yr aniversary, he went to bed, and i sat on my ass on here all night, crying. our second aniversary, i told him to fuck off, and i went camping with people who actually wanted to be with me.

i do everything with and for my kids. whic is fine, but it would be nice to have some adult time with dh. not gonna happen..ever.

i don't bother with friends, bc i woiuld just have to drag my kids with me. again, bc dh is useless.

i have deleted fb friends bc im sick of seeing how awesome their lives are with their kids and family.

it sucks. but something im working on.
