No insurance question

Okay,SO does not have insurance. He's a pretty healthy guy. He hasn't been the dr since he was 16. He's 23 now. Anyway, he has a ball on his neck which turned out to be a cyst. So this first dr after doing all these tests decided after that he wasn't going to do the surgery because he doesn't have insurance. And I talk to a representative on ehealthinsurance and she said that they will deny him insurance for his surgery.

What do we do? Keep trying to find a dr that will do it without insurance ?

If it isn't life threatening they will require you to pay up front or use some type of credit.

I believe in order to get insurance with a pre-existing medical problem you would look for a company that offered insurance without the health questionnaire/exam. They usually charge more but they do exist. My mom uses one since she's self employed but I can't remember the name of the company she uses.

Hmmm... How much will it cost? More than likely you will have to pay upfront unless it is life threating.

You can get carecredit? Otherwise I think they require you to pay a portion up front. But I think most doctors will take him on as a patient; as long as there is a payment plan in place

Keep trying to find a doctor. Chances are that no insurance will cover it because it was discovered before. Even if you don't tell them when you apply for insurance they will find it in his records.

I would find a job with health insurance. They won't deny them.

There are insurances you can buy that are for a specific surgery or illness. Google it. I considered doing it for the exact same thing before.
