Just for fun!

My new house is a 60s time capsule wreck. Built in '58, wholly updated mid-sixties really nicely, but random shit updated (usually poorly) since. Very Brady kitchen and staircase, mid-2000s low end appliances, gross 80s pastel bathrooms complete with toilet carpet. Gross green carpet in the bedrooms and living rooms that I'm sure hasn't been updated (or cleaned) since the late 70s or 80s. Linoleum floors so gross I'm scared to walk on them. At least there's no termites, major structural issues, or creepy basements this time.

I'm turning it into a remodeled win. I hope.

I would love newly built if not for the tendency for them to have fugly garages that dominate the front. But it must be nice not to deal with old house problems!

What style? I love the Arts & Crafts style you see so much from that era.

Ours was built in 2011. But front garages here are the norm...even in older homes.

Traditional New England style home :)

Pic is from last summer, but it's the only one I have on my laptop.

According to which source? It says 1920 on the deed, 1900 on the tax records and my husband's grandmother says 1930. She knew the people that built the house and she and her husband built there house 3 doors down around the same time so I trust her more. LOL

When we bought our house I had to pry mustard yellow PLASTIC tile off of the walls of the kitchen, the tile went up the walls about 3/4 of the way.  And there was mustard yellow and burgundy asbestos tile on the floor.  Our house was built in 1950.
