co-sleepers, how on earth do you stay up late ever??

oh my goodness I want GROWNUP TIME... I mean, time to sit up and not have a child awake. But as long as I am awake, they are awake. I can not force my children to sleep. I can force them to go to bed, but not to actually sleep.

So how do other cosleepers do it?

I never had this issue.
DD was out at 8 every night.
DS is 3 months now and on almost the same schedule.
Plenty of alone and adult time!

I simply didn't go to bed when they went to bed. I tucked them in and left.

I only coslept when mine were new..

After about 2-3 months, they went into their cribs.

I'll go lay down with DD and get up when she falls asleep.

How old is the child? I just put them to bed like I would if they were in their own rooms/bed. It may take a few days but they will get it.

I co~sleep...  But, DH and I stay up late in the living room and DS normally sleep in his bed (he's 2, and started sleeping in his sweet car bed at the age of 2)...

Psst, just because he fell asleep, does not mean I have to stay in the room with him... :)

My newborn falls asleep around 10 every night. He'll sleep in his swing in the living room until we decide to go up to bed
