To those who have consigned....

I have about 8 13 gal trash bags full of my clothes and my 2 daughters clothes. I've tried to sell this stuff for a year now and not having much luck.

Our stuff is in good condition. Most stuff hardly even worn. I'm not charging too much IMO either.

So do you think it'd be worth it for me to go to a consignment store to sell to them?

I'd have to donate over 1100 dollars before I could claim that back on my taxes. Not sure I have that that much stuff!!! Lol

So help!!!

I haven't consigned in a while because I couldn't make much money.

I have just traded or given away to people I know that could use the stuff.

In my experience people tend to pay it forward.

I tried once but the place I went to never gave me my money so I ended up giving all my dd's stuff to people that needed it.

How did they never give you your money? Don't they or aren't they supposed to pay you on the spot?

No they write who the stuff belongs to on the tag and when it gets sold they write it down and write you a check for whatever amount you sold minus their consignment percentage on the designated day. That's how it works in my area anyway. The woman that had my stuff donated everything to the victims of the tornado in Alabama. I never saw a penny but just let it go. I didn't really need the clothes or the money. I was in high school.

If I knew people who needed it then I would give it to them.

If not then I'd try that out, never have before though. There have always been people in need first.

I always cosign my kids and my stuff. I bring bags to the store they tag and hang and donate what they can't sell. I get 70% if I take store credit if I get cash it's 45%. I take credit and get boys new 'used' stuff
