Is age just a number?

A friend posted this on Facebook and we got into a debate about it. My husband and I started dating when he was 21 and I was 15. Age is just a number to me. Y'all's thoughts on the issue?

Dh was 20 I was 15 when we started dating..I think if the number inbetween gets big enough I could see a problem manly a generational gap thing but I think 5 or 8 years is no biggie

I think it's more than a number, but it doesn't necessarily define you overall. Not every 21 year old is like every other, but tbh I think your opinion is biased. Although the person who made the status is being a little too dramatic so it's hard to take what she's saying seriously.

Meg yes and no? I have always dated older guys, but I honestly don't think I would be ok with my 16 yr old dating a 21 yr old.

Age is just a number after you've turned 18.

I always dated older guys. It depends on the maturity of both people. But really, calling a 21 year old who is dating a 16 year old a child molester? Thanks to the over use of the term, it's going to lose its shock value.

Once everyone is over 18, age is "just a number".

However, if any of the participants are under 18, the number that should concern you is the amount of jail time and the cost of the attorney.

umm eww. A 21 year old has no business with a 16 year old.

No, age has legitimate implications. You simply don't have anything in common if you are too far apart.   Dating underage girls was common back then, but forbidden today.

If someone whom was 19 thought my 13 yr old was a good candidate to date hell yes id have a problem with it...so yes in this case i think anyone under 18 should not be dating someone whos 5/6yrs older
