How do you know she isn't? Did you do her family tree up to find out? Just because she doesn't LOOK Puerto Rican, doesn't mean she ISNT.

Lots of people try to identify as things they are not. I guess it's what they view as an ideal?

Maybe she had a great grandparent who was Puerto Rican. Who cares?

Do you know for a fact she isn't? Or does she not "look" Puerto Rican to you?

Idk. I'm white and people assume I'm Puerto Rican. I have an accent, cook the foods. I didn't do it on purpose. I've just been with my husband and his family so long I picked up the traits.

Because that's where they find validation.  Rather than finding it within themselves.
