My ds is having surgery tomorrow, I know he will be ok . Is going to have his adenoids and tonsils removed. Still my heart can't help it to be scared (specially because he is asthmatic ) about the procces, the pain and all that. Tell me about what you have overcome whit your child?

Thank you all for all your support and good wishes!

Bipolar disorder

Can't overcome it but we deal with it as best as we can each day.
Good luck on his surgery.

My 13 month old had surgery on his eye at 11 months. Surprisingly I didn't fall to pieces. Hugs to you.

DS also had his tonsils taken out when he was 4. I was very scared. Especially since he has autism and at that time was still having problems telling me if he was in pain.

Thankfully all went well, and after just 3 days he was his old self again -- even wanting to eat solid foods like chicken nuggets. lol

Don't worry momma -- he'll be okay.

In the next 7ish months I will have to explain why they have a baby brother or sister that is daddy's but not mommy's.
It will be hard explaining that to my 6 year old because he knows his little sister can from my belly.

My son had the same thing done when he was 5. He is 8 now. The whole thing only took maybe 4 hours, from check-in to check-out. He was pretty sore for a few days, didn't eat for about a week, but after that he got better. Don't be too worried, it isn't too bad. The scariest time for me was right after he woke up. He was sort of freaked out and started crying asking if the doctor could put them back in lol. He was messed up from the sedation and saying some crazy stuff.
