I'm thinking about getting a mother's ring...are you supposef to put the stones in order of the kids' birth? Or does it really matter?

This is mine. It goes from top - seven year olds stone, ten month olds stone, and the bottom is a pink sapphire that I hope to replace one day with a little girls birth stone.

But I don't think it matters which order you put them in. Your ring, do whatever you want!

No, it seems pretty ridiculous and a waste of money.

Mine is set up special. Its blue topaz for my birth month. Garnet for my girls. And then amethyst for my husband. I did it in month order. I know its not traditional but i love my family ring.

I bought mine when I first became a mother 14 years ago. It doesn't have birthstones or anything like that its a gold band with little diamonds in it and I bought it with my husband when my son was born. I've never taken it off and it means as much to me as my wedding band does. This thing with a mothers ring is pretty recent with all of the birthstones it's not a waste if money if that's what you want but to me any ring will do because its the Intent of the ring that matters not really what it has or doesn't have.

Yes! My youngest son bought it for me. My stones are in birth order, but I don't think it really matters.

Rings annoy the hell out of me. I wear my wedding ring, but that's it.
