i just watched a movie called the bling ring on lifetime like a week ago. just now i see a movie called the bling ring with the exact same premis is coming out in july in theaters. how is that possible? how can they make the same movie with the same name and different people? lol

They are both based on true stories. Lifetime always changes names and puts their own spin on the story.

That's weird. Most movies made for lifetime are movies that wouldn't make it in theaters.

It's not that rare though. You know how many different movies out there are called Titanic? A lot hehe :)

Ones the cheap version. One is the high budget version. A lot of production companies ride the coat tails of other movies.

The high budget film was probably in production a year or two ago. Giving the low budget production companies a chance to quickly put something similar on tv. It happens all the time. Especially with children's cartoons

no. doesn't work like that when the premis is a true story that actually happened. recently, too. besides, the theatre one has been in the works for year
