S/O Teens and masturbating

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

If you found your son masturbating to a pic of a girl from school, would that bother you? Would you buy him Playboy mags instead? Would you say anything to him?

I wouldn't say anything unless everything was really awkward after. If that was the case, I might say something like "hey, I'm really sorry for invading your privacy, everything is normal" etc. As far as the pic, I think I would keep my mouth shut. I think saying something would cause more harm than good

Buying him Playboy magazines? Haha! NO. "Here's something to masturbate to son!" Just weird.

*edit* this didn't happen to me. S/O from another post, just curious what others thought

Someone also suggested a do not disturb sign. LOL. No... That's just humiliating.

To me, that's a bit different. I wouldn't want to know about it... That's one of those father son secrets y'know? And not saying "here, whack away"

As a mother, I couldn't walk in on something like that, turn around with a Playboy subscription and say "here ya go" lol.

My DH would probably buy him magazines anyway

I think that's normal - I'm dreading the day that my son starts doing that - ugh. I know it's going to happen eventually but there's no way I'm buying him a playboy.

While I respect your opinion, I don't get it... He's probably thought about her and 30 other girls from high school! He decided to print out her pic, whoopee. Maybe HER parents should be monitoring HER Fb... Not the other way around. IMO, having respect for women and masturbating to a pic are completely different things.

I wouldn't supply him porn, that's for sure. As for the pic, I'd probably have my dh give him "the talk" and explain how it's kind-of stalkerish for him to be printing his schoolmate's pictures for his sexual enjoyment. Add on the "respect for women" speech too, that would definitely be necessary at that point. Then we'd probably let him know that he doesn't need a FB if he can't use it properly and let him know that this is his last chance to keep it.

I would probably talk to DH about it, but I imagine he would be like "Oh, he's masturbating? Cool story" lol That or something completely smart ass like "Right on son!!!! Is she hot?!!" lol

I probably wouldn't say anything. I might bring it up to his father and let him handle the situation. I think I'd rather my kid be doing that then actually having sex that young.

To me I feel that we should be able to have a picture of ourselves and/or our families without someone printing them out for masturbatory purposes. Imagining someone privately in your head is one thing, what he did is another IMO. He took it to a creepy level. If this was my situation I would probably ask him how he would feel if he knew that a stranger was taking pictures of his sister or mother off of FB and was masturbating to them. If he wouldn't like it I don't think he should be doing it to others, know what I mean?

You should, however, that's not the case. It's the internet. When you post a pic on the internet, anyone can print it out for "masturbatory purposes"

I would rather hear that a horny 16 year old boy was masturbating to her pic rather than a disgusting 50 year old man.

If your son is held accountable, so should she.

I don't think it's a "creepy level" considering he's only 16.

Of course he wouldn't want someone doing that to his sister's pic or his mother's. Problem is, he's 16, he will throw that logic right out the window and hide it better.

That's the thing though, I call the shots. He could either behave himself or not use my internet anymore. Cell phones etc aren't a need, they're a luxury that I allow and I can revoke that at any time. I also monitor what's going on, it's a part of the kids being allowed to have a cell, FB, or Internet access. I don't think there's any difference between a "disgusting 50 year old man" and a teenager, if it's gross and inappropriate for one it's inappropriate for everyone. I'm not the other girl's mother,  I can't force her to remove all photos from FB. What I CAN do is ensure that my son isn't disrespecting his classmates. If he's old enough to understand that he wouldn't want someone doing that to his family members he's old enough to control himself and not do it to others. We'll have to agree to disagree.
