Are YOU guilty of medicating your child to sleep because you 'have something to do' ?

No, I do that to myself :)

Edit to add: I take sleep aids & smoke marijuana. I don't take cough syrup or other over the counter cold or allergy medicines to make me sleep.

Nope.  Sleep has never been a problem with anyone in our house, lol.

I will give melatonin to DS occasionally. He has ADHD, and Aspergers. So there are times when he will not sleep well on his own for weeks at a time. We are talking maybe a combined 3 hours a night.

Only when they are sick and having trouble sleeping because of coughing or something. My oldest also gets knocked out for long car trips, she gets car sick and we give her kids dramamine which tend to make her sleep.

I don't medicate them just to knock them out.

No, but when they need meds that happen to knock them out as a side effect, it sure is nice and quiet. Lol
