I Smoke Pot

So, when DS was a baby, I quit smoking weed.
As he's gotten older and now I have two (DS and DD) I've smoked it a handful of times and I find that when I'm stoned, I am more engaged in what they are doing.
I play with them, I am more mellow, I don't get angry easily...
So, IMO, smoking weed makes me a better parent.
I think I'll get my medical card so I can smoke legally...

You're just a druggie. It makes you a terrible mom.

If it's legal, then no.
Having a drink now and then doesn't make you a bad mom, and I never drink.

Is medical mj available in your state and do you have a medical condition that warrants your accessibility to this card?

It's not as easy as some might think to get that card.

Can I ask why you feel smoking weed makes you a better parent?

Medical is legal, and yes. I was diagnosed with migraines at age 11.
I explained in the OP- I am more attentive, more relaxed (nicer) and actually WANT to play with my kids when I am stoned.

Me too. :). And yes it is legal here. As legal as liquor and cigarettes. We can walk into one place not far from here and get weed like you would cigarettes.

if you need to get high to be a "good" parent then what you need is help. If you have to self medicate to be able to interact with your children you need to figure out what is wrong with you and get professional help.

If it is legal in your state, look into the process of getting your medical card to smoke it.

There's something that I can't quite put my finger on, however, that concerns me with your answer I've highlighted.

I do want to add that you saying you're a better mother is making you look really bad. I smoke it because I want to and enjoy it not because it makes me a better person or mother. Just like someone who has a drink here and there because they enjoy it. If you need to to "survive" you have a problem.
