If your kid comes to my house and breaks something of my kids, do you feel obligated to replace it?

Depends on how / why it broke, but usually yes.

I depends on the circumstance. If my kid was abusing the item or purposly broke it, then yes. If the item was just fragile or badly made, and my kid was using it properly, then no.
