4 & 5 month olds dying from SIDS

It is so heartbreaking when you hear any child dying from SIDS. Any child dying period. My question is, how are 4 & 5 month old children dying from SIDS? My pedi told me once a baby can roll on their stomach by themselves, they are fine. They know when to move their head in order to breathe. It scares me hearing all of these babies dying from SIDS at that age ( my baby boy just turned 5 months today). I know not to put blankets and stuffed animals in his crib.

It's been my understanding that SIDS risks go down slowly with age but that the risks are there until the age of two years. I should go look that up.

But how? What causes that to happen?

SIDS can be linked to fatal vaccine injury, suffocation, etc.

Nobody knows an exact reason. Which is why it's called "sudden infant death"

Until a baby is 12 months old there is a risk of SIDS.

Every month though the risk decreases signifigantly, but doesn't go away even when they can roll over.

It's unknown otherwise it wouldn't be sids.

When I read that post, I thought that they cannot determine that with 100% accuracy without an autopsy.  They just cannot come into your home and say "baby is a SIDS baby".  BUT, 4 and 5 month olds do die from it.
