Do you agree with this? I see this a lot around here, by military and non military alike.

No. I don't agree with that. I think that you make one of the important sacrifices a wife and family can make.

Sorta agree. While we don't make much money we do have a lot of benefits that help. Though like with any job the higher up you are the more money you make.

It depends on the husband's rank, if the spouse is a sahm or working, and how many kids they have.

Pfft. Yeah, right. I know a military wife who is anything but poor. Four kids, always eats out, always in a nice house (moves a lot for husband's job), always in nice clothes, etc. And she doesn't work.

I think it just depends. Officer pay isn't bad at all.

I'm retired military and I do know that paygrades E-1 through E-4 are not configured to raise families and a lot of families struggle.

Not even close. Military personnel make a lot once you roll in benefits.
