My first maternity photo shoot, what do you think??

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I know I am no pro, but practice makes perfect. My sil will be 10 weeks tomorrow/today, and she had her first ultrasound so I took some pictures. I will be taking more in about 10 weeks when they find out the sex..........we think its another girl for her, anyway here are 4 pictures. Please ignore the background but tell me what you think??

thank you everyone for your comments.........a few points, yes it is too early to take pictures like these, however her baby implanted high, so she does have a little belly, she is not overweight yet either......I do appreciate the honesty too. I did tell her that we will make sure her nails are done next time we take pictures........these pictures were practice, and I know not to use this lens when taking more pictures, I can't seem to get this lens to focus all that well. Like I said at the very begining I am no pro, and not claiming to be one either, but I would love to go pro when I know I am ready........any who I am not giving up so there will be more to come in the next 30 weeks.

Cute!  A lot classier than a lot of maternity photos I have seen.

 How is that stupid?

Quoting SaraD1989:

That's my go to lens:) here's an article I've found helpful for me.  http://www.clickinmoms.com/blog/easy-tips-for-creating-better-maternity-photos-by-leah-cook/ .  Great start though, and it always good to be open to opinions:)

Quoting Anonymous:

Thank you......I actually want to do a couple photo shot with them before she does get big so I told her to wear a black top so it sorta slims her down.........daddy will be in the next shoot lol, mommy didn't want him in these because he didn't have an appropriate shirt......the next shoot we do we will do either on my property or at a park somewhere where we have a selection to work with..... I wanted honesty so your "overly critical" reply is welcome. I am using a Canon Rebel T2i and the lens I used was a kit lens, 18-55mm F-3.5.

Cute woman. Outfit is horrible though... Makes her look big all over. Maybe suggest a fitted light colored tee. Basic makeup(lips, cheeks, eyes nothing heavy).. Loose the watch and bracelet, its distracting.  I don't care for the use of a sonagram it takes away from the shot. Oh and where's daddy?  Different background too, you can see the blinds. Sorry for being overly critical, but did want someone to be honest for me. What camera are you using? And lens?

Some ideas:). Good luck
