You Are NOT A Mom, Today is NOT Your Day!

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I am so sick of seeing people wish "fur moms" a happy mother's day. Seriously? Just because you take care of a dog does not mean you earned the right to celebrate today. Yes, my pets are family, and I refer to them as my kids, and I their mom, but no, a pet mom does not deserve mother's day gifts and cards. They are taking away from the sanctity of the day, and being inconsiderate of those women who are real moms, who have children of their own (either by birth, adoption, or very invovled step-parent)

Rant over.

I don't and I was a single Mom for many years.  IDC if you are fulfilling both roles.  You get your day and that is it.  It takes something away from the day when people who are not a Mom or a Dad on Father's Day either and then expect people to give you extra congrats for that.  I still maintain that it's BS.  However, this is my opinion.  I don't expect the world to agree.

Actually I fully support single dads celebrating both mother's day and father's day as they are filling both roles. Same goes for single moms.

nd I was irritated earlier when I saw someone wish single Dad's a Happy Mother's Day.  That's even MORE ridiculous to do it for fur Mom's.  UGH

It's Mother's Day people!  For Mother's of human kids, not fur babies and not dads.  Dads get their own day next month and honestly, pets are usually a lot easier to care for.
