My new roommate was helping me with the dishes and she was rinsing them with ice cold water! She said that's what she's always done and everyone she knows does it like that. Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy??

Hot to wash, cold to rinse. That was how we were told in food safety class to get my Food Handler's Card for the county.

Holy shit!!  There is a rule for washing dishes too????  I honestly use the water temperature for my personal enjoyment for my hands... could care less if its hot or cold, as long as the dishes get washed.   I honestly think that it doesnt matter if the water is cold or hot, just use bacteria killing soap!!!

Depends...I'm a bit complusive. So basically I scrub both sinks down. Soapy hot water in one and cold water with 2tlbs bleach in about 5-6gallons of water in the other one. While it's not so enivronmentally safe, it's what I do.
