My son's best friend got shot right in front of him

So yesterday my son went to his best friends house. I've been there several times. I know his grandparents(who he lives with) and I know the area. It's not a bad area at all.

Well yesterday the boy's uncle had been drinking all day, busted a window, and was just being an ass I guess. So the boy said something to him and his uncle pulled his gun out and shot him right in the head. My son said he immediately took his shirt off and wrapped it around his head but he was gone so my son and the boy's gf had to start running because the uncle started shooting in all different directions.

The uncle was arrested. And now his girlfriend and my son have to go to court and relive this all
Over again :(

I don't know what to do. My son won't talk to me. He went to his friends house down the street for a while but that's it.

The boy and my son are both 19.

So sorry... Your poor son. :( Don't press him to talk... just be ready to listen when he's ready.

Wow :-( I wouldn't know what to say either. I would just let him know you're there for him if/when he wants to talk. I'm sure he's freaked out right now and it's going to take time to get over something like that.

That's so sad. I hope your so is able to grieve and overcome this horrible situation. Has the uncle been institutionalized before.
