I don't think it's a good idea. Peole aer still losing jobs and things like that. Sure, they can have savings for times like that, but that 6 month cushion isn't enough any more. It took my ex 9 months to find a job after leaving the military. So, even the ones who have done things right may need help.

WIC can be better done. Limit the amount of food/formula better. Also even though they do offer BF classes, I think they should do a better job so that more women would BF therefore cutting costs again with less formula being bought. It should also go on cards for every state. If I dont buy all the milk in one month that money isn't wasted. Sorry but getting 2-3 gallons of milk at a time is dumb.

I don't think they should be cut. More monitored, yes, but some people really need them. That's just going to bring our population down farther...

1 in 50 people were on it in the 70s.  Now it is 1 in 7    After reading about all the posts on here, there seems to be a lot of abuse. People getting 600 or 700 a month in FS is ridiculous.

It's about time.  The program is out of control and we simply cannot afford to keep it going at the same rate.

I just hope the elderly and disabled won't be too affected.

Um, food stamps are a drop in the barrel.

The wars are what is costing us billions.
