Would you throw a pot of hot coffee on your child?

Posted by   + Show Post
Another poster stated in another post that when her BIL was 17, he backed talked his mom and his mother grabbed a fresh pot of hot coffee and flung it at him....the 17 year old ducked and it hit her other son.

Soooooo....I'm against spanking and all of that but this goes FAR beyond spanking and is down right abuse and assault. The poster stated the mom was from another country and was stressed out, so it was ok

So what say you? Is it ok to throw a pot of hot coffee on your kid because he smarted off?

My grandma got mad at my mother for smarting off when she was a teen, and threw a high heel shoe at her, the heel got stuck in my moms head... She was from Cuba, it doesn't make it right! When people fuck up, they fuck up! Abuse is Abuse no matter where you're from! Hot coffee, yeah... abuse!

Absolutely not ok.

WTF? Where would a person even get the idea that's an acceptable thing to do?

Hell no! I would tie her down and pour boiling water on every inch of that woman.

First of all, disciplining while you are angry or stressed out is out of line.

Second, throwing anything at your child is out of line

Third, That is straight abuse, not discipline.

Of course not. I agree, that goes far beyond a simple spanking.  No excuses for that kind of harm to a child.
