Proper names for "private parts"?

Posted by   + Show Post
Do you teach your children the proper names for their's? I've been talking to DS (3) about the other name for his "peepee". He's now in the bath yelling "penis...PENIS...PEENIS...PEEENNNIISSS!" I think this may have backfired a little lol

I worked with a guy like this. He actually brought a 4yo up to me and goes "Tell Miss _____ what you just said to me!" I turn to the girl, expecting to hear the "F" word at the very least; and she goes "Mr. (guys name) farted!!" and burst into giggles. I sent her away and asked him what he thought she said and he goes "I thought that was a bad word! I've never heard of that word in my life. What does it mean?" I then had to explain to a grown man what farting was. In his defence he grew up in Scotland, but still - awkward

Quoting LoveNaCupcake:

Hahaha I dated a guy who wasnt allowed to say fart, they called it fluffing. like WTF? O.o

We use penis and vagina. I had a friend in college that called her vagina a tutu. I was not allowing that to happen.

My niece calls her vulva a tootie. I find it a bit weird but whatever. My DD calls it her privates or vagina and butt. If (God forbid) someone inappropriately touches her I want her to be able to verbalize it. It happened to me, it could happen to her.

hahaha! Yeah, this guys family was a little off (still are!) It didn't last long between us, I mean it's hard to take a guy seriously when he's like "oh! excuse me, I just fluffed" >.> Yeah, that's not awkward!

Lmao. Fluffing is oral given to a male porn star between takes, to maintain a hard on.

Hahaha well when you're a homeschooled sheltered kid who isn't allowed out into the world, fluffing is the little "poof" your butt makes lmao!

Penis.

There was a post not too long ago about a little girl being molested. It went unnoticed for a while because she said "hit my potty" and they didnt realize what she meant. Sad..

We have always taught proper names. I remember when my 4 year old daughter heard vagina (blah to those of you who want to say vulva, I tell her vagina....no need to correct me on that, or tell me I am screwing her up) she looked at me and said "mama, that is a funny word". Lol

He knows the proper names for them, but we also have silly names for them, my mom calls a vagina a pikachu, and a penis, a goo goo! LOL!
