I did, I have one child.  I told people the name before he was born (big mistake) and spent my entire pregnancy defending it to family.  They brought it up on every occassion I saw them to try and change my mind.

I went with the name I chose, I'm glad I did and have no regrets.  I loved the name Zack then, I love it now and I still see nothing wrong with that name.

Wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.

Nope. Everyone gushed over my Noah and Clara's name

ETA-- now that I think of it... DF's daughter did scoff at my DD's name because it's "old". But her opinion means squat to me.

My dad and mom made fun of Torrins name. My dad kept joking that his paper was Torrin. (Torn) My mom said Tori's were evil children.

It means chief in Irish Gaelic.

When she was born the name fit her and they stopped.

I love the name Zack.  I don't understand why your family gave you a hard time about it?

It was actually chosen after my grandmother and The Nutcracker. Doctor Who's Clara is a happy coincidence :)

No, we didn't. But had it happened I, like you, would just have gone with my own opinion. Glad you still love his name :)

I kept my name secret so I didn't have to deal with that. But so did every other pregnant woman in my family at the time, and that's the only issue we ran into. Dh's cousin had her baby first and named her what we were going to name our dd. But neither of us could have possibly known because we were both so stubborn on keeping our names a secret. Who would have ever guessed those secret names were the same name lol. It really wasn't a big deal though, I moved on and picked another name and its the perfect name for dd! And I never ended up telling dh's cousin that they had the same name. We were actually the first ones they shared the name with when she was born, and my face must have been priceless haha.
