When my friend's 3 week old son died, she told me there is NOTHING anyone can say to make her feel better. The only thing that helped was me listening. She'd call at 4am, after not sleeping for days. All I had to do was listen.

You don't say anything, just HUG her if she will let you, and be there if she needs you.

She came to work? Just offer your condolences and leave her be for a bit.
