We are moving 2 days away. I have a cat that is coming with me. My mom said to make her more comfortable on the long ride I can give her benedryl to help her sleep. Is this true?

Yes. Children's Benadryl but only a tiny amount.

I wouldn't. You can get a sedative from your vet for that, it's called acepromazine. I've used it on my cat, he got so relaxed that he pooped in his carrier but other than that he slept most of the ride.

I had planned on taking her to the vet and asking about something like that anyways. I just wasn't sure. I don't even give my kids benedryl to make them sleep.
