My friend is 6 weeks pregnant and she's opting to have a doctor over two hours away deliver her baby.. she wants to have baby there because that where she's from but Herr dh is from here.

So... you're eventually going to be driving two hours one way to the doctor (Medicaid) and you get FS ... and what if your water breaks and your doctor is two hours away... I think this is dumb.

Why does her insurance and the fact she has fs have to do with her choice of dr?

How? She clearly can't afford groceries but she will make a four hour round trip a million times?

Because that's a LOT of gas money

And what? You are not paying for the gas.

I think you have too much time on your hands if you have the time to judge your friend

When I was pregnant (the second time), the nearest OB surgeon and anesthetist was an hour away but they'd transfer you to the bigger centre 2.5 hrs away. That means if you are going to have a section, they send you there. Heaven forbid its an emergency section (like my first). Luckily one was hired just before I gave birth. And it turned out I didn't need him anyway.

Sometimes you don't have a choice. But if you do, why on God's green earth would you risk it?!
