Gift or no gift?

Its my father in law and I am unsure of whether we are expected to bring a gift, or a card, or anything at all really. There will be at least 70 people there, and its a child friendly, very casual event. (not sure if that matters)

I would. Bottle of scotch, wine, or whatever his vice is. Or a box of golf balls...

Doesn't have to be big. Just to show that you are happy for him and you wish him the best in this new chapter of his life.

Thanks! He drinks crown & coke, so I think that's a great idea.

Gift.

If in doubt, always bring a gift.

A bottle of crown would be perfect!

I would bring a nice card, and maybe a very personal gift? A framed picture of the grand kids, and have the kids draw or make something for him?
