hard wood for help

So I'm trying to help fix up my semi-mil's future house. Everything else, for the most part is kinda done. The front room has hard wood, which is really messed up. She only gets about $800/month in disability, plus she has custody of her youngest grand daughter (not my child). Grand daughter is only 3...

I don't have much money (I got declined trying to buy my son $5 flip flips today!) Sigh... But how could we fix the floor?

I don't know what it costs but what it really needs is to be buffed out and refinished. some places like lowes and home depot rent buffers

On the cheap?  Try cleaning the floor with Murphy's oil soap and then once it's dry, get some floor polish.  The kind you squirt on and then apply with a sponge mop and let dry.

It really looks like it needs to be refinished, but I think that would be pricey and a lot of work. We use Bona on our Hardwood floor and it looks beautiful! My flooring came with instructions to never let water hit it or it'll ruin it.
