Parents that don't let their kids have fb accounts are controlling parents that will have to deal with trust issues later.

That is to bad.  My kid is not getting one.  She is only 7 but I see a lot of 7 year olds with a FB page.

And parents who let their 8 y/o have a fb are putting their child at risk for sexual predators....

LOL....or they are abiding by licensing and IP restrictions that everyone agrees to when making an account that state the user must be at least 13 years old.

Frankly, my employer doesn't allow us to have FB and I am happy I miss out on the juvenile drama.

It depends how old the kid is. I don't think a 10-14year old needs one. My little sister is 12 and she wants a Facebook but honestly I think she is too young. What is a young kid gonna do with a Facebook anyway.....they should focus on more important things than to start being on the computer all the time. I remember when MySpace was popular. I first got one when I was 14 and a freshmen in high school. Once Facebook became popular I started using it when I was 17
